Brief Kingdom History:

[ WIP ]

Once existing as the unchallenged superpower of the world, the past four centuries have been unkind to the once powerful Ezrian Empire as it has broken apart, been reformed, and occasionally reached a resurgence of it's former power. Years of internal civil war, barbarian invasions, and a succession of weak Emperor's has caused it to steadily lose it's territory. Thus far, the country has managed to keep itself from collapsing by playing the barbarians and it's neighbors off against each other, using a mixture of bribes, threats, and attacks. But the Imperial Armies and it's wealth are still a mighty thing to behold. With a new generation of Autokrator's to guide the Empire, it might just be that Ezria can snatch victory from the jaws of defeat and reclaim it's imperial ambitions.

Over the past ten years, the Imperial borders have been stabilized on what is known as the frontier, the barbarians held in check (though at a price), and something close to stability has been maintained under the twenty year long reign of Emperor Theodosius I. It is hoped that his success can be continued by his son and heir. The newly crowned Emperor Basil Palagieous has turned his attentions to recapturing former lost provinces of the Empire and destroying those whom challenge his claim to power. If anything is certain it will be that Palagieous will have to move quickly before the barbarians can multiply in number and overwhelm the hard fought borders of the country.
