Introduction

While the Frohn Tribe lavished under the rule of Governio II, only ever stepping across the Nihr river to briefly trade with Sarmandals or the Kantach to the south. They held neither love nor hatred for their brotherly tribes, though they often held the oriental Sarmandals with a hesitant suspicion. Such suspicion seemed to hold merit as the first initial troops poured across the Nihr during the heavy fall. The huge host of 60,000 spotted Frohn villages of insignificant size as they headed toward the Frohn settlement, but it was not easily disguised and as the Khan's Army moved across the plains toward Frohn itself, it found itself thoroughly wedged in between two Frohn armies; both having hid in the thickets of forest and low shrubbery that dotted the landscape.

The "Frohn Highway," the lengthy fields and meadows that established the brief trade route from Frohn to the river was the perfect ambush spot. The Khan Army can choose to fight, not fully realizing the enemy's composition, or attempt a retreat or delaying action, but the certainty of the latter two could prove disastrous if not carried out to the tee.

Sarmandal Army is ambushed. Can choose to attempt to Fight, Retreat or Delaying Action. Players please PM your decisions.

Turn One

With the Sarmandal victory at the Battle of the Devil's Glade, they had effectively driven off a large part of the Frohn army. But the enemy were numerous, constantly harassing and raiding the Sarmandal as they continued their march. The morale of the army had been shaken, not least because their leader had been badly wounded during the Battle. But it was more than that. With the destruction of the Sarmandal logistics train, the soldiers once daily ration had been cut to the bone, and with the first snows beginning to fall the army could not live off the land. The Frohn capital sat on a sprawling hilltop fortification, it would take a siege to take it, and no doubt many weeks of living outside the walls before a crack developed in it's defenses.

More cautious commanders urged that the army retreat until the following spring, when fresh reinforcements could be brought up, and the wily Frohn cornered and annihilated, while the Sarmandal host was free to live off the crops. But Warlord Shen and his lieutenants would have to make a decision quickly. The winds were growing colder....

SUMMARY:
The Sarmandal can continue onwards and lay siege to the Frohn capital or retreat.
